Stories of Entrepreneurial Journeys

Entrepreneur is kind of a fun word. It’s probably French, right? I bet I could look that up.

Anyway, being entrepreneurial can mean a lot of different things. Entrepreneurs change things. They fix what’s broken- well, or they try. Sometimes they break stuff. Entrepreneurship can mean that you start a new business, or that you change things inside of a business that you are a part of. It is a way of thinking, and the ability to take the risk of acting on an idea. Entrepreneurs often make others aware of their presence by asking “What About This Idea?”.

On our show, “What About This Idea”, we will be meeting with people who possess an entrepreneurial mindset. Some will have started movements that have changed society, some will have created new businesses, some will have changed the culture and ethos of the organizations they are a part of, some will just be starting out on their journey and some will have fantastic tales of abject failure. To be entrepreneurial involves some element of risk. Change is often resisted, sometimes violently, and change-makers are quite often not well rewarded for their efforts. Yet for some, the desire to enact change, to innovate, is so strong that they can’t seem to live without embracing the risk necessary to do the next new thing. And those people, our entrepreneurs, drive innovation and progress through sheer will and determination- and more often than not they have some amazing stories to tell!
